Thank you for taking the time to do this. I have some dedicated stalkers hacking me and am hoping I can get root on my new Pluto before they do.
Thanks for your video!!! My play1 had some problem with the bass after my cat knocked it over from the shelf. I thought it was totally unrepairable and going to dump it, But your video help me figure out how to replace the bass and I success! Now my play1 is back in shape and ready to work for another 5 years 🎉
I'm glad it helped!
My ZED14 only turn on the mute lights, no light of power, vumeter, etc.. Could you please tell me what's the problem? Should I replace some led or someting like that? Thank you very much!
Old video but there's so little imo info on these. What's the assembly opposite the barcode reader that supplies the water to the pod. My tas1000 model has another spot where a hose would connect to but I think it's an overpressure relief.
We have an Allen & Heath Zed-428 24-channel board that has ten channels that the audio cuts in and out. We can push the mute button two or three times and the audio is then ok for a few seconds and sometimes minutes. This issue seems to be only on even numbered channels. Any suggestions for what may be causing this issue? Thanks, Mike
Hi. What does that little microchip do? Because the top of mine’s ripped off?
My zed 16 have the same mute switch issue, the button doesnt switch always the led and sound cracks on and off while moving the pusbutton

Just found this great video of yours. Loved it. Can you please tell the details of your smart tiny camera, you used for details?

Hi how to connect boss digital pedal delay to Allen and heath 24 mixer (without FX)
Theres a small smell of acid coming from both play 1's i just purchased used...can you show a detailed fix for this ? Thanks
Small smell of acid is normally associated with leaking electrolytic capacitors. Replace the electrolytics and you should be good.
Thanks! I was looking for the jumper positions for the PRE and POST MUTE AUX for the ZED60 mixers.... for some reason they chose to make them all PRE-MUTE !! Hopefully it's just as easy to bridge those as shown in the picture above at 190 seconds.
your voice is absolutely luscious bro
please help me. When broadcasting live, I do not hear any delay in the sound, why?
Thanks for the video. What's that material you have in the small jar? Looks like your spreading it with a razor blade.
It's 183° Solder paste. Yes I'm using a razor balde to spread it through the stencil. 👍
I have an A&H ZEDi-10, 5 months old which suddenly lost power and won't power up again. Suspect PSU board, any idea where I can download a service manual? I can only find the ZED10FX sm which is different. Original supplier of unit not being much help warranty wise.

I have the same mute switch fault on my Mixwizard. Looks like it would be straightforward to clean the switch assuming that is the fault although you don’t say what the issue is.

Thanks very much for producing this set of videos! Ive tried to trace down on this same board as to why the fx will only come out of one side with no luck. Maybe it has something to do with that main distribution card?
Did you fix this? And how new copper seal??
Yeah - new crush washer did the job :-) new return tubes too. Thanks for watching 🙂
Thank you
Thank you so much for sharing this video, really informative
I'am using ZED14 but I found that the microphone Input signal is too weak! I must turn on the gain up to level: 4 hour to get fine turn. Could u show me about this problem!?
Great video. Very informative. One question. I have a dent in my grill that I need to pop outwards. The screws look kind of funny in this video. What type of device are you using to unscrew The housing on the outside and remove the plastic? Because that’s what I need to purchase.
Ooh it's been a while, but I believe they were T10 "Torx" style screws.
Good afternoon, just come across your video, my speaker in my play one is no good now, so, I was wondering if you could help, I'm wanting to make the Sonos interface work with my old school separates system. Is there any way to disconnect the speaker in the play 1 and then send the signal to my stereo via and auxiliary/rca cable, then I could plug in :). Thank you in advance
thanks for this video.. i have a problem in mono input board ch 4 and ch 6 , if the microfone connected than the noise comes up can you tell me what the problem is?
Sir pdf
Thanks! I solved a problem with a loose connection with the help of you video.
Hi, what are the small resistors nearby the larest capacitor ? It says r524 but the rest on my board are burnt out. Could you please help with the part numbers of those 3 small smd components ?
We’re you able to find out what the power supply converted the voltage to in DC? Was it 12volt dc?
Superb demo, many thanks
Thanks for this video. My friend got given a coffee machine but the person dropped it when they handed it over. We have been trying to piece it back together and this video helped us fix it! Wholesome afternoon had by all.
Glad you liked it! I still have one of these machines and use it all the time :-) although, Ihave to say I've aged a bit since I made that video!
Aux1 low volume whats the problem
Anyidea what could be causing clicking noise when sweeping the low band eq? Im working with the zed420.
Very interesting videos, my Allen & Heath ZEDi8 will not power up. I have checked the obvious, plug fuse, continuity of cables and power switch. Will I now be looking at the main power board? and where should I start first? thanks
Yes - start with the main power board. Look for obvious signs of failure first. Be careful it's a switch mode supply, and can have very high voltages present even when unplugged. There is a fuse - check that. Then look at NTC1 or the bridge rectifier on the input side. If you can, test Q1. On the output side, look at D2, D3, D4 and D7.

Thanks for the video man! Curiosity satiated
Fascinating video! Thanks 😊😊
My barcode reader lens is cracked / crazed, but does still work just. Wonder if I can pop out the clear plastic and replace it with a fresh piece of clear plastic?....
Thanks for the video. I’m also one of those people searching for knowledge on the jumper settings for making the mono channel’s direct out post fade. Would you happen to know about this?? A&H tech support flat out refuse to disclose this information to me - ‘all schematics are strictly confidential’ so I’m told . (I have no interest in stealing their intellectual property, just modifying my own desk in a way that is obviously designed to be an option ) Many many thanks in advance! 🙏
I will try to get some time to look at the channel board and see if I can figure it out.
With the solder link options, the post fader is made default by a thin copper track that bridges the post fader link pads, presumably so they don't have to solder it in production. However, this thin copper track must be cut (carefully). Then you can solder-bridge the pre-fader link (better to get a handful of surface mount 0-ohm resistors - the solder gap is so wide that it makes bridging difficult). The modification works likes a charm, but no reason why it should not. The service manual schematics show the pre-fader connections to Aux1, Aux2 and the solder links, which also go to Aux3. Just a matter of removing the post-fader line from Aux3 and feeding it the pre-fader. Frankly, I have no use for a post-fade aux track and the extra pre-fader is great :)
*I suppose there is a way to bypass the stupid circuitry, connect the pump to the on/off switch and reuse pods at will without barcodes - just time your brew manually.*
Well you could, but why would you re-use a pod? They don;t have much flavout left in them the second time - and the machine won't stop you using a pod any number of times. If you're refilling the pod, or making new pods, you need to seal it - the process needs the pressure to build up inside the pod. Why not just shove a barcode on the new label?
@@HomeChurchScotland *the barcodes have a set time of brewing, if you want a shorter shot time for espresso for example, then you need it on manual*
Fantastic video. My Bosch Tassimo has just packed in. I know this is a long shot but @spiderelectron do you have a working control board? All else in my machine seems ok. I have power to be controller board but no LEDs on and no action....
Sorry @Alan Wardle it's long gone!
@@Spiderelectron ok, thanks for your response. It was a long shot.....Any comments re what the problem might be? I have AC power to the controller and the solenoid, heater etc are ok. The cover microswitch is held closed with a cable tie. None of the LEDs are on. Is this an unfixable problem on the controller, and i should just scrap the machine?
@@alanwardle6083 I would suspect the main 'dropper' capacitor - the big one behind the heatsink you can see at 7:36 - worth a shot.
@@Spiderelectron mmmm. have measured this on my multimeter, and seems ok at 633 nF
Hello, what could the issue be if the left right meters are no longer lighting up to measure input?

Hi, I broke the wires in half on my headphones when I tried to open the earpiece. What can I do to repair ?
Hi Sorry to hear that. Headphone wires are often thin and delecate. You'll need so carefully pare back what's left and try to solder in a repair. You'll need a fine tip iron and good eyesight. Good luck!
@@Spiderelectron Thank you
Hi, apart from your repair video, are A&H ZEDs reliable normally? Just bought a ZED14 used in mint condition for a great price here in the UK, thought I’d ask as many owners as possible 😊 always had Soundcraft but fancied someat different
Yes they are in my experience.
Hi , I have an zed and My problem is that I have a signal in my audio editor in my pc without using any instrument.. any advice? Before was okay. Thanks
Hi. It depends what the signal sounds like ;-) Is it a valid signal, leaking in from somewhere, or just noise?
@@Spiderelectron I can’t hear a noise, but I see in the screen it’s minimum but before was cero and I didn’t change anything. It’s like tic when you plug something
